Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear Patients and Friends,

Since our inception, our goal has been to keep you healthy and looking your best. In response to the recent outbreak, we are carefully following CD, AMA and DC Government guidelines to protect you and your loved ones while visiting our office. We want to reassure you we are here and ready to help you with your usual (or unusual!) skin conditions.

To remain compliant with the DC Government Covid guidelines, please note the following:

  • Patients wearing face masks with valves will be asked to use a mask without a valve or to cover the valve. If the patient does not have a compliant mask, one will be provided.

  • Patients presenting with any COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment

  • Patients who may have had viral exposure will be asked to reschedule or provide a negative COVID-19 test

If you are feeling sick, presenting with any COVID-19 symptoms, had viral exposure, are on self-quarantine, or awaiting test results, please give us a call so we can reschedule your appointment. Otherwise, our loyal staff and providers will continue to make sure your skin stays looking good and is cancer-free.

Below you will find more information on what we are doing to keep you healthy while you visit our office.

We look forward to welcoming you to the practice in the days and weeks to come!

Warm regards,

Georgetown Dermatology

New Check-in

Procedures

Plexiglass sneeze guards have been placed to keep you and our front desk staff safe as you interact to check in and schedule follow up appointments. We have continued to provide hand sanitizer and clean pens, and we keep our door open to minimize  your interaction with multiple surfaces.

Shorter

Waiting times

To reduce congestion in our waiting room, patient visits have been extended to provide ample time between patients and room sanitation. Our friendly staff ensures you are brought into a private room immediately after checkin. Our average waiting time to be roomed is less than 4 minutes.

New

Policies

In order to minimize the risk of viral exposure we require all patients and staff wear face masks through the entire visit. People who have traveled in the last two weeks, who tested positive in the past month or are presenting with symptoms are asked to reschedule appointments.

frequent

sanitation

All patient rooms are sanitized with medical grade solutions prior to every patient visit. All surfaces, including those patients do not interact with, are thoroughly wiped down before each appointment

Our entire team of providers, medical assistants, receptionists, and office staff are fully vaccinated and have received booster doses if eligible.

True HEpa

Filters

Honeywell True HEPA Filters have been placed in every exam room and our waiting room. These HEPA filters also contain carbon pre-filters and together are capable of filtering 99.97% of air particulates, including airborne bacteria and viruses. They improve clean airflow for each exam room as well as the waiting room.

In response to COVID-19, the HVAC filters in the Foxhall Square Building have been upgraded to MERV-13 filters. MERV-13 is one of the highest grade commercially available HVAC filters.
